Yet, I am not different

Apparently, there’s nothing common

In two people’s lives,

Till situation wipes space and time;

Opportune to movement

I’m here and so are you;

  When was the last, where time raced

With little reflection?

Boundaries apart

Preciousness of life

Yet to be realised….

Waiting and waning

“Will I see another New Year?”

Child asked Santa;

Trust never failed.

I continue to read,

Hoping for many

A life of dignity

And some food to eat.

Wonder, if they still know

The taste of potatoes and beans.

There’s nothing common

Yet, I am not different.

Has It…

Has it become a ritual

Of wishes, and blessings

On festive and date of birth?

A call away

Of little something,

More rejoinders, wished?

Life a way to each –

Situational and conditional,

Should accept, or expect from time?

 I wipe dust from my old albums….

Faded, In a Way…

She painted her nails in a shade of red,

Trusting the powers of colour;

And faded her pains to a new-found joy,

When minutes paused in a way….

She picked on her steps from tap to a dance,

Matching rhythms of heart and soul,

Rising energies and rinsing shades,

 And fading into her new-found Self,

When minutes paused in a way….
