Matches

Matchsticks scattered around

At an untimely moment,

 Having spilled out

Off the carelessly opened box.

Fingers plied aimlessly

Gathering into a pile

The little wood with coloured head

Dormant to the world.

A few broken halves felt cold,

Calm, as it seemed

My touch indifferent

The candle burned in memory….

Whose was it…

Travelling with a pair of shoes –

A pristine white canvas;

Relentless climbs

And lone journey on rugged path.

Just when someone mentioned her –

‘A fragile being for delicate life,’

She kept me gripped to adventure

And led me home clean feet;

Not one but many

Imprints on her surface

Etched memories

Of the victorious…

A stubborn self?

Unsuspecting shoes?

Susceptible minds?

Or our complete trust?

Whose was it anyway,

When a pristine white canvas

Enamoured me to consider

Travelling with a pair of shoes?

Karmic

candle

Shed myself into the moment

My wax melted and froze

I glowed in my own light

Luminous radiance filled around;

The life I lived some time ago

Removing darkness from other lives.

Yet, I am nothing without the fire!

I blush, burn and buffer to existence

And I grow from a mere ornate candle

Our karmic connection predestined.
