For Her
She and I didn’t share the same nature of job.
I’ve known her but for some time now.
She and I never spoke anything
Except exchanged “Thank you”
For the cup of tea she served me at work.
Today, unlike other days
She and I got into the lift together and were alone.
I smiled and fiddled with my phone
And she searched in her bag for chocolates
“You know, I work for myself and my past is not painful.”
“Happy Women’s Day, madam.”

Very Woman
Silence prevailed.
Accurate mind processed.
“That’s not a very womanly thought.”
I looked up inquisitively.
“Thoughts have gender?”
If so, man and woman
Each has another side.
Perception smiled.
Circumstances laughed.
“Offence not meant, or taken.”
Thoughts multiplied unnervingly.
Advocacy spiralled.
“Oh my accurate mind, please spell,”
Silence persuaded.

The Woman….
Marooned in her own island,
Searched within for the answers;
Her pains did not pain;
Her fears no more scared;
Her insecurities turned secure;
She was no more who she used to be.
Her reflections began to fade
And she evolved day by day.
The eyes, nose and lips were the same
And she smiled knowingly.
Satisfied in her new found freedom
In knowing her and knowing life,
In love with herself;
A significant human being
Sure of sharing and caring;
The woman that I am
I love her for her self
And I smile knowingly….
