So…

Petals shed from the vase
Layer of bright and grey.
Fresh jasmine garlands on the deity
Perfumed the pale and stale.
A whiff of hot coffee lingered in the air.
“So what?”
Said the bored youngster.
But,
Fragrance or aroma?
Stagnancy or permanency?
The wind changed direction.

Devotion

I sing to you

The song I have learned

The mantra that saw many generations

Words in Your praise

I sing in devotion.

I sing to you

Today the song that I feel deep within

Never heard before phrases but a mantra,

Words thanking you and meant only for You

I sing in devotion.

I sing to the Goddess of knowledge.

Steal A Few Moments…

beauty

I wish I could steal a few moments from life…

Never having seen a delicate life so close to hold;

Green, fresh as the rain washed leaf;

Silvery, enchanting as if an angel

On earth with a message.

“Touch me not,” she fluttered as long as her wings could take;

Choosing to sit on my feet, as long as she decided to have me.

A day had gone by in admiration.

The next day of hope was all about me;

Just another living being,

In search of the beautiful being.

I wish I could steal a few moments from life….

Gaze

There my eyes rest

As my mind comprehends

‘Nothing’ in the vacant gaze.

The flower I see bright

As my mind processes

‘Happiness’ in the distant gaze.

Mesmerized I stand

As my mind responds

‘Gathering the simple’ along the gaze.

A little time stolen from a day

Mind not the eyes and mind

And the gaze assesses the transition.
