I believe in taking every day as a learning phase, and exploring my writing skills. I have enjoyed the challenges as a journalist, content writer and college lecturer, and at the moment am living life analysing the extraordinary in the ordinary!

NaPoWriMo 2026 – Day 10

April Poetry Writing Month – Day 10

Arriving again, and again…

Now rests between sea, sand, and shore.

Carried by the tide, what shifts does not disappear. It returns; reshaped, rerooted, and received anew. The body learns this rhythm: to release, and to arrive again.

In this body-centric exploration, the shore becomes a space of meeting, and we, as grains of sand, are travellers. When movement settles into stillness, we recognise that what we seek has always been within our reach.

NaPoWriMo 2026 – Day 9

April Poetry Writing Month – Day 9

Unlocking what is held, and knowing what must be returned.

Moving between past and present, memory and moment, something once hidden is briefly revealed, only to be returned to where it belongs. Not everything we access is ours to keep; some stories are simply witnessed, carried, and let go. Some stories are better left as they are… not meant to be recalled.

Continuing this body-centred journey, it becomes a question of what we open, what we hold, and what we choose to close again.

NaPoWriMo 2026 – Day 8

April Poetry Writing Month – Day 8

Return to movement, walking as rhythm, as reflection, as self beside self.

Written in a parallel form, the poem mirrors steps and thoughts, holding movement and meaning side by side.

Present, past, and back to present in its final step – like walking itself, continuing beyond what is remembered.

What feels like distance may only be an illusion. The body remembers what remains connected.

Walking beside myself… in this continued #poeticjourney.

NaPoWriMo 2026 – Day 7

April Poetry Writing Month – Day 7

A voice, a memory, a presence – real or imagined; it lingers.

Not all memories arrive whole. Some return in fragments, in stories that may or may not have been ours.

Today’s poem is inspired by a prompt that invites an image that feels off – slightly surreal, slightly out of place. Written as a dramatic monologue, the speaker addresses a silent listener, revealing more than intended.

Continuing in a body-centred practice, it is interesting to notice how the voice emerges through memory, sensation, and symbolism.
